Kelly's Persian Food offers tasty food that have been already fully cooked. We freeze our food products so that it will be safe for bringing them to the Farmers Markets or to deliver to Turnrow Farm Market for West Virginia food delivery. Freezing the products follows the Health Department regulations and also ensures the items will be safe to consume. However, the thawing out process is as important as the freezing process to serve the delicious food!
Below are suggestion on how to thaw out our different food products and make it ready to be served!
For Kelly’s Falafel, Sweet Potato Falafel, & Eggplant Koftah
Keep the food item in the refrigerator for a few hours, allowing it to thaw out.
From here, you have a few options to get the already-cooked thawed out food
ready to eat:
1. Transfer the food to a microwave-able container and place in microwave.
Use the defrost option, either by weight or by time, select the desired amount to get a warm and fresh food!
2. You can also heat up the oven to 350 degrees, place the already-cooked thawed out food items on a pan, add some olive oil, and let it stay in the oven rack for 5-10 minutes to get fully warm and ready to be served!
For Kelly’s Soups (Taragon Soup, Ahsh Soup, Nokhod-Ab Soup)
Depending on the size of the container, keep the soups in the refrigerator for 1 hour to 1 day allowing it to fully thaw out. Now you have two options to warm up the soups and prepare for a tasty meal:
1. Transfer the soup to a microwave-able container. Use the defrost option of the microwave, either by weight or by time, select the desired amount to get a warm and fresh soup!
2. Transfer the thawed out soup to a pan, place on the stove top set to a medium heat level, let it sit there for 5-10 minutes, and then serve a warm and delicious soup!
For Kelly’s Hummus (Paprika/Tahini) & Baba Ganoush
Keep the food items in the refrigerator for a few hours, allowing to fully thaw out.
Since Kelly’s Hummus and Baba Ganoush are served cold, there is no need to warm them up in a microwave.
Instead, let it sit in the refrigerator for an hour or two then transfer the thawed out Kelly’s Hummus or Baba Ganoush to a serving container and enjoy!
